Giving needy parents an opportunity to provide gifts for their children will be among the Salvation Army’s Christmas activities.

Parents whose incomes are below the poverty line or who have recently lost their jobs will be able to choose gifts for their children at “Toy and Joy Shops” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday at the Salvation Army Santa Monica Center and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday at the Salvation Army Center in Burbank.

In addition, the organization sponsored an event in which 50 needy children were able to choose $100 worth of toys and clothing at Sears in Santa Monica.
