SAT Scores

David Savage's article on small colleges in Southern California (Dec. 17) does much to point out some important advantages for students to consider in their college search. However, the chart included in the article contains an error with regard to the SAT scores for Pomona College.

The SAT medians for the freshman Class at Pomona this year are 620 verbal and 660 mathematical--not 600 and 530 as reported. SAT scores are only one factor we use in the admissions process, but it is important that students and parents have accurate figures to help them with college planning.
