Tours to Benefit County Orchestra
Strike up the band for Design House ‘86, which will benefit the Ventura County Symphony while the house is open to the public from Saturday through June 1.
“Designers on the Keys” is the theme of the house, which is in Ventura’s Keys, an area of the city where backyards are traded for docks and yachts.
Fourteen Ventura County interior designers have volunteered to decorate the house, owned by Al and AnnaLee Makhanian of Glendale. They built the home, which has a 100-foot dock, three years ago as a weekend retreat.
Tickets will be $8 each and will be available at the house, at 3094 Seahorse Ave., which will be open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays, noon to 4 p.m. Group tours of 10 or more can be arranged for Tuesdays at a reduced per-person rate.
