San Diegan Slain; Roommate Booked
A 23-year-old Southeast San Diego man was being held without bail in County Jail on Saturday after allegedly stabbing another man to death Friday, police said.
Jeffrey Baker was booked on suspicion of murder after San Diego police were called to a house in the 500 block of Ritchey Street, where Baker and the stabbing victim were living. Officers found Lerenzo Fort, 39, with an 8-inch knife sticking out of his stomach. Witnesses told police that the two men had been arguing and a fight broke out.
Fort was taken to Paradise Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
