Virgin Islands Governor Elected in Runoff Vote

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands —
Democrat Alexander Farrelly was elected governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands in a runoff election Tuesday, officials said. Farrelly had 12,650 votes to 6,549 for Sen. Adelbert Bryan of the Independent Citizens Movement. A runoff election was called because no candidate gained a majority in the Nov. 4 election.
