Tommy John, former major league pitching star, resigned as pitching coach at North Carolina and is threatening a lawsuit against the school’s head baseball coach, according to the campus newspaper.
An unnamed source quoted by the newspaper said that John said: “Coach (Mike) Roberts made me a lot of promises, and he really hasn’t kept them.”
Neither John, who had been with the team for about a month, nor Roberts could be reached for comment. Athletic Director John Swofford confirmed the report but said he was unaware of a possible suit.
