Study Misleading

Share

Robert J. Hagstrom’s letter on B of A’s in-house management in your Oct. 26 section was off base. His “obvious example” of bad management was number of employees per branch; this ignores any reference to market share or transaction volume.

B of A has a substantially greater market share than any other bank used for comparison.

The only meaningful comparison is total accounts serviced per employee or total transactions processed per employee.

This is not to suggest that B of A’s branch system cannot become more efficient. But Hagstrom’s analysis is misleading.
