President Reagan’s Secret Dealing With Iran

As a proud Persian, I wish to express my personal satisfaction over the realistic steps being taken recently by the U.S. government toward normalizing relations with my country--Iran.

Evidently, such steps in the whole have triggered a great deal of debate and dispute in the nation’s news media, which in itself is an indication of Iran’s importance to America.

However, there is a point to ponder. No matter how radical the present Iranian government may be or how unfriendly some of its practices may seem, the Iranians themselves are not, by any means, a “terrorist nation” as some American officials keep calling them in different interviews. On the contrary, the Iranians are, with no doubt, among the very most honorable, hospitable and humble nations of the world, and there are several thousand proofs to this assertion--ask so many honest Americans who have previously traveled to Iran.

Let’s not forget, gentlemen, that for decades Iran has been one of America’s most valuable friends in the Middle East. Iranians, themselves, have always condemned terrorism; then how should they be called a terrorist nation?

So, please let’s watch the language, and keep ordinary people off politics.
