Huntington Beach : Man Wounded as Rifle Discharges Accidentally
A man who had just returned from a hunting trip was shot in the abdomen Sunday night as a .22-caliber rifle that a friend was unloading from a car accidentally discharged, police said.
Carl Andrew Casey, 19, of Westminster was wounded in the abdomen in the incident, which occurred in the 8000 block of Brush Drive. Dana Steven Moeller, 18, of Westminster was unloading the rifle after the two had returned from a hunting trip in the mountains, Police Sgt. Larry Miller said. Casey was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, where he underwent surgery and was listed in guarded condition, Miller said. No charge is expected to be filed against Moeller, Miller said.
