Hycor Biomedical Inc. Reports Net Loss for ’86

Hycor Biomedical Inc. reported a net loss of $149,000 for its 1986 fiscal year, in contrast to a loss of $642,000 a year earlier. Revenues for the year increased slightly to $6.36 million from $6.33 million in the company’s fiscal 1985.

The Fountain Valley-based developer of diagnostic products used in clinical laboratories reported its first quarterly consolidated profit in the fourth quarter, with net income of $21,000, compared with a $108,000 loss for the same period a year earlier. Revenues climbed 1.3% to $1.58 million from $1.56 million a year earlier.

Reginald Jones, Hycor’s chief financial officer, said the company’s earnings were affected by costs of ongoing research and corporate development programs.
