Work to Start on Las Vegas Resort Hotel

Robert Schulman, a developer based both in Encino and Las Vegas, will break ground Wednesday on the $20-million Saint Tropez Resort Hotel and Shopping Plaza, his second non-gaming resort hotel in Las Vegas.

A year-end completion is expected for the 152-suite Ramada Suite Hotel to be constructed on seven acres at the southwest corner of Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue. The new project, financed by Citicorp Real Estate Inc., is just east of the Schulman Group’s Alexis Park Hotel, the first major non-gaming hotel in the gaming capital of the United States.

The Mediterranean-styled Saint Tropez will be the first Ramada Suite hotel in the nation, according to Schulman’s partner, Frank Nielsen. The architect for the new hotel is Architectural Designs Concepts Inc., Las Vegas, the firm that designed Alexis Park.

Schulman and Nielsen are also developing The Park, an office and retail complex on Paradise Road, across from the new First Interstate Bank Tower, and the Sahara Paradise Shopping Plaza, recently completed at the northwest corner of Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue.
