Journalist Completes Walk Around World

BETHEL, Ohio —
A journalist who decided he wanted to see the world firsthand completed a four-year, 15,500-mile walk around the globe today, returning to his southwest Ohio hometown to deliver a kiss to his mother.
During his trip, Steve Newman said, he was attacked by bandits in Thailand, arrested as a spy in Turkey and almost washed away by a flash flood in Australia. But he said he was also welcomed by people around the world and stayed with about 300 families during his journey.
