Irwindale : Incineration Plant Hearing

Share

The state Energy Commission will meet at 2 p.m. April 23 in the gymnasium at City Hall to decide whether to terminate the application of Pacific Waste Management Corp. to build a trash incineration plant in Irwindale.

A commission spokesman said representatives of Pacific Waste, elected officials and others will be heard before the commission acts.

Barbara Crowley, commission vice chairman who heads a committee that has been conducting proceedings on the Irwindale application for two years, has recommended that the application be terminated on grounds that Pacific Waste has been unable to meet the air pollution offset requirements and has “seriously misused” the regulatory process by withholding information given to the company by consultants.
