Former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, who has lived in virtual isolation since his abrupt resignation in 1983, has been hospitalized for several days, a hospital spokesman said. Begin, 73, was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon for a checkup after complaining that he felt weak, said the spokesman for Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Hospital Medical Center. “His situation is OK; that is, he has no special problems,” the spokesman said. “We hope he will leave the hospital in a few days.”
