El Rancho District to Register for Kindergarten, First Grade
Kindergarten and first grade registration will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4 to 8 in elementary schools in the El Rancho Unified School District.
Children must be 5 years old on or before Dec. 2, 1987, to enter kindergarten. To attend first grade, a child must be at least 6 years old, or be 5 years old and have a year of kindergarten in public or private school.
To register a child, parents must bring proof of age and the child’s immunization record. Accepted documents for age are the official birth certificate, baptismal or blessing certificate, passport, notarized affidavit or a statement from the vital statistics department of the county where the child was born, verifying date of birth. The district also will require proof of residency.
The Pico Rivera Health Center, 6336 S. Passons Blvd., offers a free immunization clinic daily from 8 to 11 a.m., and from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
