W.R. (Bud) Guest has been named president of Systems Magnetic Co., an Anaheim-based subsidiary of Hitachi Metals International Ltd. Hitachi purchased the company in 1984.

Guest,47, is replacing Manny Mohageri, the founder of 15-year-old Systems Magnetic Co., which produces custom-designed linear motors for computers. Mohageri, 49 , will remain with the company as a consultant. Guest was the former president of Concise Casting, another Hitachi subsidiary.
