Hart’s Withdrawal From the Presidential Campaign
The Gary Hart episode reveals the hypocrisy of our society more than any recent event I can think of. If every man and woman in the country who has had an extramarital affair or a non-monogamous relationship had voted for Hart in the general election he would have won by the largest landslide in American history.
