Lebanese President Amin Gemayel denied reports that he has threatened to resign unless an impasse over the resignation of Premier Rashid Karami is resolved, a Lebanese radio station said. Gemayel was quoted by the Voice of Justice station as saying: “I shall serve out my term to the last minute. I shall not quit a minute before that or stay on a minute after.” The station is operated by Gemayel’s wing of the Christian Falangist Party.
