Gardena : Firemen’s Pay Raise 1.25%
The City Council gave firefighters a 1.25% pay raise, effective July 1.
The new contract--ratified last month by the Gardena Fire Fighters Assn.--includes the city’s agreement to pay all of the firefighters’ contributions to the Public Employees’ Retirement System. The city currently pays 97%.
The increased cost of the contract is $105,000.
