Cincinnati-based Taft Broadcasting Co. posted a loss of $53.1 million for the fiscal year ending March 31. That contrasts with net earnings of $19.4 million for the preceding fiscal year. The company said the results were due primarily to a $58.2-million loss related to the sale of Taft’s five independent television stations. For the last fiscal quarter, the net loss was $6.7 million, compared to a net loss of $13.8 million for the year-ago quarter.
