A Santa Ana man was arrested Tuesday night when a Tustin police officer noticed that the car he was driving matched the description of a getaway car used by a rape suspect earlier in the day, police said.

Robert Joseph Kloberdanz, 24, was booked at County Jail on suspicion of raping a 28-year-old convenience store clerk, according to Orange and Tustin police.

The woman had been working alone in a store at about 3:10 a.m. in the area of Tustin and Walnut avenues in Orange when she was attacked, police said. When two customers entered the store, the rapist fled. However, a witness in a car followed the man to the area of Bristol Street and Memory Lane in Santa Ana before losing sight of him, police said.
