Santa Ana : Party Dispute Results in Fatal Shooting, Arrests

An argument at a party over a ride home resulted in a man being shot to death and two others being arrested on suspicion of murder, authorities said Sunday.

Santa Ana police said the argument broke out Saturday night during a party in the 2000 block of South Cypress Street. Three men left the party, then returned, each armed with a handgun, officers said.

When another group left about 10:35 p.m. and began to walk home, one was shot twice in the head, police said. The man, identified as Pedro Juan Solano, 22, of Santa Ana, died Sunday at 8:20 a.m.

Two suspects, who were arrested at the scene, were identified as Lorenzo Botello Camacho, 36, and Eugenio Perez Aguilar, 19, both of Santa Ana, police said.

Officers said Sunday that they were searching for a third suspect who was believed to have fired the shots. They did not disclose the suspect’s name.

Officers said they were told the argument had been over arrangements for a ride home.
