Jessica McClure’s 58-Hour Ordeal Captivates the Nation
We’re a nation of people who are thankful that Jessica McClure is alive and well. But no one seems to be questioning why those children were left unsupervised, if only for a minute! Why an open shaft in the backyard? That little girl was a totally innocent victim of stupidity as far as I’m concerned.
As we’ve seen, it only takes a minute when a toddler is involved. How many children have fallen into swimming pools because someone dashed inside for just a minute? How many others have come dangerously close to falling into other open wells?
Prayers will not help to prevent these kinds of avoidable accidents. Education and awareness will.
