Auburn quarterback Jeff Burger and offensive tackle Jim Thompson will not play in today’s game against Mississippi State because of a possible violation of NCAA rules, school officials announced.
A spokesman said the action was taken because of “the possibility of an extra benefit arising from a hunting trip.”
