She Gets the Bird--and He Gets the Pokey

A man was jailed on Thanksgiving Day after being accused of assaulting his girlfriend with a 21-pound turkey, police officials said.

The woman told police that the two were quarreling outside a house and that the man used the turkey to shove her inside, aggravating her back condition. The weapon “was not placed in evidence because it was roasting in the oven,” the arresting officer said.
