Troops of the Israeli-backed South Lebanon Army manning a position near the village of Niha, inside Israel’s self-proclaimed “security zone” along its border with Lebanon, crushed a pre-dawn attack by at least 100 guerrillas of the Iranian-backed Islamic Resistance. The private Central News Agency, well known for its contacts within the SLA, reported that seven guerrillas were killed and one was captured. The SLA said three of its troops were killed.
