Praise for Portrait of Neighborhood

Share

The piece on Westdale (Times, Nov. 22) made me wish that I had had some exposure to life in a small town. Philipp Gollner’s sensitivity to the nuances of the neighborhood--such as tranquility and care and concern as well as pride--impressed me no end. I might also add warm hospitality, having enjoyed it in the home of Joe and Joan Cryden who are pictured as typical residents of the community.

Incidentally, the areas surrounding Westdale seem to be zooming in all directions, but Westdale is holding its own and remains intact, firmly and resolutely.
