Shooting at Seagal

Share

Letter writer Bill Turner said he would break out laughing if somebody shot him while making a face like the one Steven Seagal’s making (Calendar Letters, Feb. 21).

But Turner would not have time to laugh because Seagal’s aim would be true. That’s because he keeps his eyes open and watches his front sight instead of closing his eyes and flinching at the report and muzzle flash like Mel Gibson in “Lethal Weapon,” Eddie Murphy in “Beverly Hills Cop” and many other Hollywood heroes.

Shooting at an armed opponent from an exposed position with one’s eyes closed is a way to certainly die--but not at the box office with people like Turner paying the admission.

I for one look forward to seeing a film with an action hero who has seen some action in real life before arriving on location.
