Batus reported that a federal court in Reno set a hearing for April 13 on a complaint by Farmers Group of Los Angeles seeking to prevent Batus of Louisville, Ky., from continuing its tender offer for Farmers stock or seeking shareholder support for a resolution Batus wants to present May 20 at Farmers’ annual meeting directing the insurance holding company to discuss the Batus bid. Meanwhile, Farmers reported that the Arizona Department of Insurance has moved back this week’s scheduled hearing on the tender offer to May 2. Batus began its tender on March 3, offering $63 per share for all outstanding common shares.
