Japanese Man Indicted in Pipe Bomb Probe
A Japanese man who is a suspected terrorist was indicted Friday for allegedly carrying pipe bombs on the New Jersey Turnpike, officials said.
Yu Kikumura, 35, was charged with three counts of interstate transport of explosive devices, three counts of possessing unregistered explosive devices and three of possession of explosives by an illegal alien, U.S. Atty. Samuel Alito said.
Kikumura, identified by the Japanese Foreign Ministry as a suspected member of the terrorist Red Army group, also was charged with one count each of having an illegal passport, a fraudulent visa and the passport of another person.
