Students’ Prayers for State Insect Answered

COLUMBIA, S.C. —
South Carolina may soon get a new state symbol because some elementary school students bugged the General Assembly.
The House on Thursday passed a bill to make the praying mantis the state insect, and the Senate had taken similar action in March.
