This is a summary of larger contracts which the federal government has awarded recently to recipients in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

Northrop Corp. in Anaheim has won the following contracts:

- A $2,783,968 contract from the Army to supply thermal image units for use in fire control;

- Six contracts totaling $1,141,934 from the Army to supply circuit card assemblies;

- A $516,093 contract from the Army to supply laser assemblies for use in fire control;

- A $138,008 contract from the Army to supply electronic components;

- A $117,252 contract from the Army to supply afocal assemblies for use in fire control.

Hughes Aircraft in Los Angeles has won the following contracts:

- A $2,300,000 contract from the Air Force to study the defense satellite communications system;

- A $278,868 contract from the Air Force to supply 106 generators for use in communications;

- Its Connecting Devices division in Irvine has won a $177,786 contract from the Air Force to supply 153 wiring harnesses.
