Bush Pledges to Include a Latino in His Cabinet
Vice President George Bush arrived in Dallas today to a spirited welcome from a mariachi band and immediately promised to name a Latino to his Cabinet if elected President, saying, “It’s time. It’s long overdue.”
The certain Republican nominee said he wanted to make a pledge, “a pledge that I have never made before, to anyone, to any group.”
He noted that women, blacks and other minorities have been named to Cabinet positions.
“If I become President, my Cabinet will be composed of the very best men and women--at least one of whom, finally, will be a Hispanic American.
“It’s time. It’s time. It’s long overdue,” Bush said in a speech to the League of United Latin American Citizens.
