American Mobile Systems to Build Florida Network

American Mobile Systems--a Sherman Oaks operator of two-way mobile radio systems--said it will spend $1.6 million to build a network of radio bands in Florida, which can be used by owners of Motorola radio equipment.

Motorola is a major supplier of two-way radios. AMS has suffered financially in recent years, partly because Motorola’s equipment did not work on AMS’ networks, which are in cities around the country including San Francisco, New York and Miami.
