SAN DIEGO ENTERTAINMENT BRIEFS
The San Diego Pops management is hardly singing the blues after last week’s Gershwin blast at Hospitality Point. Patrons broke attendance records for the summer season to hear “Rhapsody in Blue” and a host of other Gershwin favorites. Total attendance for the four-concert series was 12,185, according to symphony spokesman Les Smith. Saturday was better than a sellout, with 4,038 Gershwin fans present, some 350 more than the Hospitality Point facility seats. Additional patrons were sold lawn passes to hear the concert from the sidelines.
