Local News in Brief : Man Dies in Crash of Pal’s Motorcycle
A 21-year-old Reseda man riding a friend’s new motorcycle was fatally injured when he lost control and crashed into a parked car, Los Angeles police said Thursday.
Von Lawrence Holquin died at Northridge Hospital Medical Center three hours after the accident at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday near his home on Chimineas Avenue near Hartland Street, police said.
A friend of Holquin’s bought a motorcycle Wednesday and brought it to Holquin’s home for him to test ride, police said. Holquin began riding at high speeds back and forth on Chimineas Avenue when he lost control for an unknown reason and struck a parked car. He was not wearing a safety helmet, police said.
