Local News in Brief : Costa Mesa : Motorist Arrested After Altercation
A Santa Ana man was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of stealing a Costa Mesa woman’s car keys after her vehicle allegedly cut his off, police said.
Alicja Olszewski, 34, was traveling south on Fairview Road near the San Diego Freeway about 7 p.m. when she allegedly cut in front of Thomas Brian Ettz, 27, according to Costa Mesa Police Lt. Dennis Cost.
When Olszewski stopped for a red light, Ettz used his car to push hers into the middle of the intersection at Fairview and the San Diego Freeway, Cost said.
“She got out of her car and he got out of his,” Cost continued. “He then pushed her, threatened to kill her and scar her face. He went into her car and took her keys out of the ignition.” He then took off in his car southbound on Fairview.
Olszewski gave police a description of Ettz and the license plate number of his car. Police later found the car parked outside the Pacific Amphitheatre and arrested Ettz when he left the Aerosmith rock concert.
Ettz was booked into Costa Mesa Jail on suspicion of robbery. Bail was set at $50,000.
