A damaged Polish sailboat which arrived earlier than its landing permit allowed and was forced to anchor several miles off the Golden Gate for a week was finally given permission to dock in San Francisco three days early. The Coast Guard said that the 42-foot boat’s four-man crew will be allowed to stay only until Nov. 7, despite its request to stay through early December. The boat, the Stomil, is on its way around the world and suffered damage to its steering and keel during its monthlong passage from Hawaii.
