A 20-year-old man was arrested in Culver City in last month’s $1-million robbery at Slavick’s Jewelers in South Coast Plaza, police said Wednesday.

Jereal (also known as Delvin) Deon Griffin of Hawthorne was arrested this week by Culver City police on a warrant for driving with a suspended license, Culver City Police Sgt. Dan Irvin said. It was discovered then that he had several other warrants for misdemeanors in Los Angeles County and for the robbery in Costa Mesa.

Costa Mesa police identified him through a fingerprint found at the robbery scene, Costa Mesa police Sgt. Ron Smith said.

Los Angeles officials gave Costa Mesa police photos of the suspect and an alleged partner, and Slavick’s employees identified them as the robbers, Smith said.

A $100,000 warrant is still outstanding for Michael Jac, also known as Michael Sean Reed, 21, the other suspect, Smith said.

Four heavily armed men entered Slavick’s just before closing time Nov. 22, ordered employes and customers to lie on the floor, then emptied the display cases. They walked out of the mall undetected.
