Local News in Brief : Judge May Side With Developers

Share

A Superior Court judge said Tuesday that she is inclined to rule in favor of lifting Glendale’s building moratorium, which has halted the processing of permits for all medium- and high-density development in the city since Sept. 27.

Judge Miriam A. Vogel said she will rule within 30 days. She said she is inclined to agree with the developers that the moratorium should no longer be in effect. It was either passed illegally because the council did not wait the required five-day period, she said, or the ordinance has already expired, since under state law, emergency ordinances only last 45 days.
