DANCE
Four Chinese ballet dancers who were to participate in an international dance festival in France this weekend have been arrested in their homeland. Organizers of the weeklong Rencontres Internationales de la Danse, which opens Sunday in the French coastal resort of La Baule, said the cultural attache at the Chinese Embassy in Paris told them the dancers were arrested in connection with recent demonstrations but provided no details. The four are couples Yang Xinghua and Xin Lili, winners of the Shanghai Ballet grand prix, and Wu Wei and Qu Zijiao, gold medalists in a 1988 competition in Liaoning, China.
