Ludloff and Barg Help Beat Strings
Former UCLA standouts Heather Ludloff and Penny Barg helped Wellington sweep four of five sets en route to a 28-14 victory over the Los Angeles Strings in TeamTennis competition Friday night at the Wellington Club in Florida.
Ludloff and Barg, who teamed in doubles for UCLA in 1984, defeated Australian Anne Minter and Lise Gregory, 6-0, in women’s doubles. Ludloff also teamed with Blaine Willenborg to beat Gregory and John Lloyd, 6-2, in mixed doubles.
The Strings (1-1) won their only match when Minter downed Ludloff, 6-4, in singles.
Wellington played without its top singles player, Kathy Rinaldi.
