Chip Hanauer of Seattle drove Circus Circus to a course-record speed of 125.977 m.p.h. and scored his 30th victory Saturday in the Budweiser Las Vegas Silver Cup unlimited hydroplane race on Lake Mead.

Hanauer, who won his fourth national driving championship, beat Tom D’Eath in Miss Budweiser and in the process broke D’Eath’s course mark of 121.957 m.p.h. set last year.
