Ford Motor Co. announced today a $260-million modernization at its Buffalo, N.Y., stamping plant.

The investment at Ford’s Buffalo facility is to produce parts for the No. 2 auto maker’s all-new Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis full-sized sedans, due in the spring of 1991 as 1992 models.

The modernization is not expected to increase employment, but will help maintain the current work force of 2,900 employees as parts production for its new Escort subcompact is moved to Ford’s integral stamping plant in Wayne, Mich.
