With Monday’s edition, the Business section inaugurates new columns and a new page, Market Watch, devoted to coverage of the financial markets. Tom Petruno has joined The Times to write a column on stock, credit, currency and commodities markets that will appear Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Petruno has covered financial markets for more than 10 years, both as a reporter and as an editor. He most recently was deputy managing editor for markets and finance at USA Today. Market Watch will also include a column on Wall Street’s latest deals by syndicated columnist Allan Sloan and tables on the performance of stocks, mutual funds and foreign markets.
