Four Arrested in Burglary of Liquor Store
Four burglary suspects were arrested Sunday after a resident saw a break-in at an El Cajon liquor store and called police.
When Officer Michelle Hales arrived at the store in the 400 block of Jamacha Road about 4 a.m., she saw four people run to a pickup and speed away, a spokeswoman for the El Cajon Police Department said.
A 10-minute chase by Hales and other officers followed, ending when the suspects crashed the truck into a guardrail at the end of El Jardin Court in El Cajon, the spokeswoman said.
The suspects ran from the vehicle, but were captured and taken into custody. During the pursuit, a drawer containing cash and a large quantity of cigarettes, with a combined value of $20,000, were thrown from the vehicle, police said.
The suspects were booked into County Jail on suspicion of burglary. They were identified as John Huggins, 39; David Jason Brown, 34; Krystal Arlene Durio, 25, and Lisa Williams, 29, all of San Diego.
Police said the suspects may be linked to a series of other burglaries in El Cajon earlier this month.
