NATION IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON STATE : Links Between Serial Slayings Explored
In scenes reminiscent of the Green River slayings, the nation’s largest unsolved serial murder case, police in Spokane, Wash., are investigating the deaths of three prostitutes dumped near the Spokane River. Officials see no apparent links between the slayings in Spokane and the Green River case, but Capt. T. Michael Nault, head of a Seattle unit that includes the Green River Task Force, said “it’s reckless to say there is no possibility.” A detective from the Green River unit will meet soon with Spokane investigators, said Lt. Jim Hill, head of major crimes investigations for the Spokane police.
