Boise Cascade Corp.: The Idaho-based timber and paper company reported sharply lower third-quarter earnings of $13.9 million, down from $62.8 million during the year-ago period. Sales were $1.1 billion, the same as in the like period of 1989. The company attributed its income decline to lower prices for paper and wood products, capital investment costs at two of its mills and the effects of the cooling U.S. economy
