World Series TV Ratings Up 25%
Television ratings for Game 1 of the World Series were up 25% over the first game last year.
Tuesday night’s game between the defending World Series champion Oakland Athletics and the Cincinnati Reds got a 20.2 rating and a 32 share, CBS said.
Last year’s opener between the A’s and the San Francisco Giants on ABC had a 16.2 rating and a 30 share, one of the lowest ratings for a night game in World Series history. The rating is the percentage of the televisions in the United States, and the share is the percentage of televisions in use at the time.
