Acqua Group Loses $894,831 for Year

Acqua Group Inc., a Van Nuys company that makes and sells water coolers, said it lost $894,831 for the year ended Jan. 31, compared with a loss of $338,519 for fiscal 1990. But the company’s sales jumped 129% for the year, to $3.56 million from $1.55 million.

The company said the loss was due mainly to a failed public offering of the company’s stock in the fall of 1990. Acqua Group had hired personnel and managers in expectation of successfully completing the stock sale. Acqua eventually did go public in December.
